Consciousness State Transitions (CST):
A Dual-Mode Framework for Shared and Individuated Awareness

Some of the ideas shared in the TechEx Europe presentation below have been developed into a research paper, now available as a pre-print on Cambridge Open Engage, Cambridge University Press, 2026.

CST explores how consciousness expresses itself across different modes, from waking to meditative and altered states, with particular attention to the range on the continuum where external reality and inner perception overlap. The paper points to a potential new direction for human development through this model. This state-dependent approach may also shed light on the longstanding observer‑effect puzzle of why, if quantum mechanics is fundamentally probabilistic, do we share a coherent external reality?
